Central to my work is the use of vowel sounds (or emotional signifiers) and ‘extended vocal technique’, to create emotive, contextual non-verbal music, with the intention of expounding upon the dimensions of expression found in the female voice. Extending vowel sounds encapsulates primal ancestral traits that can be used to explore improvisation and composition without using words.
